Methodology

The hub separates measured statewide data, regional research and historical documentation rather than collapsing them into one “facts” layer.

1. Primary-source first

Government departments, official GI records, institutional publications and peer-reviewed research are preferred. Secondary articles are used as discovery leads or clearly labelled context.

2. Answer first

Every question-led section begins with the answer where evidence permits it.

3. One fact, one citation

Material numbers and externally verifiable claims carry an immediate source reference.

4. Period integrity

“FY2024–25”, “2025 study” and “as of July 2026” are kept visible. Partial-year and full-year values are never silently merged.

5. Known vs unknown

When statewide data does not separately report a crop, food or species, the hub says “not separately reported” rather than estimating from a regional study.

6. No false completeness

Indexes are described as documented examples unless an authoritative exhaustive dataset exists.

7. Living edition

Each annual edition retains the prior year and publishes a change log showing what was updated, added or reclassified.
